Theresa Rooney graduated with distinction in Orthoptics from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1996 and later gained a MMedSci in Orthoptics and Ophthalmology from the University of Sheffield.

Currently she is employed as an Orthoptist and Clinical Tutor at NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
